James

He is
based
in the Boston, Massachusetts area and has been described
as a “Serial Entrepreneur” having invented a number of
world-standard medical products and founded 7 medical
device companies.
Jim
has an impressive track record in the medical device
industry as the founder of several medical device
start-up companies including Mitek Surgical Products,
Innovasive Devices, and Cortek, Inc. OrthoPlex is Jim's
seventh venture.
Jim
is the inventor of numerous enabling medical and
surgical products, including the Mitek Anchor and
Venodyne Intermittent Compression. It is estimated that
surgeons using Jim's products have saved more than
250,000 lives.
Jim led both Mitek and Innovasive through successful
IPOs and both companies were subsequently acquired by
Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon division. He holds BS/MS
degrees from MIT in Aeronautical Engineering and has
been awarded 39 patents.
